Jooyeon Lee, MD, MHS – Psychiatrist

Dr. Lee is a psychiatrist specializing in general adult and geriatric psychiatry. She has worked with patients from diverse backgrounds in various settings including academic institutions, city/county hospitals, and the Veterans Administration Hospital. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and board-certified in Geriatric Psychiatry.

Dr. Lee completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in Canada and received her Master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD. She received her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. After working as a research fellow at UCLA for a year, she completed psychiatry residency training at New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City, where she received the Dirk Berger Award for Scholarly Activities in 2017 and 2019. She completed fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry at UCLA and received training in electroconvulsive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.

Dr. Lee was selected for the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry Honors Scholars Program for Residents in 2017. Her work has been published in journals including Experimental Gerontology, Dialogues in Clinical Neuroscience, and the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology. Dr. Lee has been practicing medicine since 2015.
